Our Story
In 1983, two boys named Joe and Aaron Antis, at the ages of 12 and 10, got off the school bus to find that a road had been cut into the hillside next to their rural home in Ann Arbor, Michigan. That road led to their first exposure to custom home building in their lives. This new cul-de-sac of 15 homes on 2 acre lots would see some creative design homes built on them over the coming years. As each home was built, these 2 boys would go out several times a week to watch the progress as each one was constructed. They would take tape measures and pads of graph paper provided by their Dad so they could measure the rooms and draw out their versions of each plan as the homes were built. Who knew these first few crude drawings would turn into careers in home building that would see them become the President and Vice President of Shaw Homes, one of the largest and most successful home building companies ever in Oklahoma.
Aaron Antis began his new home sales and marketing career by going to work for the man who had just left from his position as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Toll Brothers, the nation’s largest luxury home builder.
Joe and Aaron Antis have designed and built countless thousands of homes in Oklahoma over their careers so far. They have designed floorplans that have been some of the most popular and award winning plans in Oklahoma in the last 18 years. With over 50 Parade of Homes awards ranging from Best Plan to People’s Choice to Builder of the Year and more. In 2024, Shaw Homes was sold to the largest builder in the nation, DR Horton Homes. And after 2 years of planning and prayerful consideration, these 2 boys from Ann Arbor, who have made their homes in Oklahoma have launched Kingdom Homes. The goal of this company is to take the decades of their home building experience and all that they have learned from running a production company such as Shaw Homes and put it into a company of their own. As a custom home builder in Bixby Oklahoma they will blend all the skills they have acquired in architecture, interior design, value engineering, materials, craftsmanship and customer experience to build homes of distinct character, feel and value in the Greater Tulsa area. Their approach to building will be focused on the customer experience first and foremost. With over 60 years of combined experience, these two brothers have the goal of honoring God in everything they do, taking the gifts that God gave them and using them for His Kingdom.
Joe Antis would go on to the University of Michigan architecture school to become an architect, and then to work in an ultra high-end custom home building company in Ann Arbor where he would move from framer to Trim Carpenter to upper level management.
